Its been about 2 months since Ruger's last update. Life has been just slightly crazy. Ruger is getting big (and BAD) Well the badness is at least calming down a little bit (a very little bit). Over the last few weeks I have seen him starting to shift to wanting to be close to me. He sleeps with me. He lays at my feet. He is almost always touching me with some part of his body. I didn't think there was a sweet dog under that badness. But it is emerging every so slowly. Last weekend we were at Blue Marsh with four other dogs besides my four. Eight dogs all off leash! They were so well behaved. The last section of our walk the dogs were hot and thirsty so the lake was very welcoming. Puppy first wasn't too sure. But before too long was belly deep. No swimming yet but he wasn't afraid to be in this far! Brave little dude.
I finally convinced Brian to come video at Liz's. I have been telling him for months I want updated video of our agility puppy in action. So here he is. 10 months old. This course is designed as an excellent level course. But we only did 15 obstacles (and no weave poles just yet). We have a goal that in the next few months those weave poles need to get a bit straighter. Pay no attention to the goofy looking handler who needs to lose weight to keep up with her pup!!!

SNow.... On Feb 5/6 we were handed a beautiful coating (15 inches) of snow......... 5 days later we were dealt a second punch. Not sure what our "official" snow fall amount was. It was difficult to measure since we had already had a base of snow. And the second storm came wit Blizzard like conditions. So, there was wind and drifting.. Lets just say that in some spots we measured about 24 inches.... BUT..... when we walk to the barn there are spots where the snow is at my thigh level which is more then 24 inches.... The dogs are split between having a blast, and not knowing what to do with all this snow. we have to watch or we'll lose the little dog, Tressa.. But then again there are spots that she can just walk on top of the snow since she is so light. Ruger.. he looks like he is swimming through it. He is having a blast. Seven months now. He is such a cutie. His fur is as soft as silk. But don't let those good looks fool you. He has put the B in bad and the BAD in Border Collie. One thing he is not Bad at though is his agility. He takes agility very seriously. What an awesome little dude... Maybe agility pictures next time. This time stay warm while you enjoy our snow.

Well this post is about a month overdue.. We have been quite busy around the dog house and then to top it off I lost the power on my computer for about a week. One week, no computer ugH!!
The end of January was busy.. Hannah, Ruger, and Kasey spent two weekends with me at agility trials. Ryott joined us during week two. Week one we spent at Penn State. The Penn State photos and the Ruger jump photos are compliments of my traveling companion for the first weekend. Heather (the dogs favorite petsitter and photographer) Got to see how NOT to compete in agility. We had a rough weekend. But we ended by touring Penn State and sitting with the Nittany Lion. BTW--- look at that jump height! The bar is set at 12 inches. Which is all a puppy Ruger's age should be jumping. But he is clearing the bar by 8 INCHES!!! He is quite the jumper. And absolutely loves to jump!
Weekend two we took some photos and had a good day on Saturday. Kasey had the best agility run she has ever had and qualified and took 2nd place. Ryott also qualified. Sunday.... Ryott had the best run. Not a qualifying run... but that was the highlight of the day. The rest was just a bummer and will force a change of course for Hannah. Nuff said.
And last take a look at this photo... Quite a resemblance!!
